Pint de los Muertos

Speaking of the dead... the stroke of midnight on October 31st also marks the start of Dia de los Muertos, a time to celebrate the spirit of those who have passed. The Champurrado drink is a canela spiced chocolate atole (a hot corn-based beverage), and is traditionally served to warm the souls of the spirits who made the journey back to the land of the living for the celebration. We turned it into ice cream for a little sweet, a little spice, a head-turning delight.
